The Lieutenancy Office is based at the Town Hall, Barnsley. It covers the areas within South Yorkshire - Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
The office is supported by Lorraine Beevers who is the primary point of contact for all enquiries and the person to who invitations to the Lord-Lieutenant should be addressed.
The Lieutenancy Officer (commencing September 2019) is responsible for supporting the Lord-Lieutenant with contact building and assessing suitable venues for Royal Visits. He also advises on protocol and oversees the execution of visits and honours awards

- In writing: Andrew Coombe, Esq, HM Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire
- Salutation: Dear Lord-Lieutenant
- In a speech: In the preamble, the Lord-Lieutenant is referred to as My Lord-Lieutenant
- In conversation: Mr Coombe or Lord-Lieutenant
