Have your say on crime and anti-social behaviour and help keep our borough safe

We would like to invite you to share your views on crime and anti-social behaviour across the borough by taking part in our annual Community Safety Survey 2026-27, created by the Safer Barnsley Partnership.

The Safer Barnsley Partnership is Barnsley’s community safety partnership and is made up of a wide range of organisations that work together to keep our communities safe. They respond to the challenges you face and focus on making Barnsley a safe place to live, work, study and visit.

The Community Safety Survey is carried out every year to capture local people’s views on all types of crime and anti-social behaviour within their communities and wider borough. This helps us find out what challenges you face so we can respond to them and set priorities to focus on each year.

The survey provides an opportunity to offer your views and feedback on a wide range of issues and concerns. We ask about how safe you feel in your local community and what type of crime has the most impact on you. We would also like to hear your views on the town centre and what concerns you the most. Findings from the survey will then be used to plan and shape the next set of priorities that the partnership will focus on for 2027-28.

We have seen an increase in responses in the last few years and since the last consultation, we’ve seen some great progress and initiatives across the borough. For more information, visit the Safer Barnsley Partnership webpage.

Councillor Paul Kelly, Cabinet Spokesperson, said:

“I would strongly urge anyone who lives, works in or visits Barnsley to take part in our annual survey and have their say on crime and anti-social behaviour in Barnsley.

“Your feedback is crucial in helping us understand the challenges you face so we can get a full picture of what you are experiencing. The Safer Barnsley Partnership can then build resources and plans that tackle the local issues you face, whilst informing and shaping future priorities.

“Everyone deserves to feel safe in our borough, and by working together we can achieve this.”

The survey will only take a few minutes to complete and will be open for you to have your say until 30 September 2026.
