Latest Good Food Pantries open in Gawber and Grimethorpe

Two new Good Food Pantries have opened in Barnsley, offering residents in Gawber, Grimethorpe and the surrounding areas sustainable, affordable food in a local community hub.

Barnsley’s Good Food Pantries are open to everyone, helping to provide residents with low-cost food while reducing food waste and supporting stronger, more connected communities.

The two latest pantries to open are at St Paul’s Parish Hall in Gawber, and at Grimethorpe Library, both run by dedicated volunteers from the local community.

The pantries stock a wide range of quality store cupboard essentials and provide local people with access to affordable food in a welcoming community setting. For just £5 per shop, you can pick up a range of everyday food essentials, while helping to reduce food waste and support your local community.

The opening of the Gawber and Grimethorpe pantries brings the total number of Good Food Pantries across Barnsley to 12, further strengthening the network of affordable food provision available to residents.
