Reloved Boutique expands into community with stall in Barnsley Market

Reloved Boutique is celebrating expansion into Barnsley Market, bringing sustainable shopping and new opportunities for students into the heart of Barnsley.

The new stall will run alongside the boutique’s existing Old Mill Lane shop, selling preloved clothing and accessories, with all proceeds from sales this year going to DIAL Barnsley and Action Against Homelessness Barnsley.

Run by students and staff from the College’s Learning for Living and Work department, Reloved helps students develop practical skills in customer service, retail and teamwork. The expansion will give students opportunities to build their confidence while welcoming new customers and becoming part of the market community.

The stall is single-use plastic free, and supplies have been purchased from other market traders wherever possible. These choices build on Reloved’s commitment to sustainability and supporting its community, which has earned recognition at the Green Gown Awards, AoC Beacon Awards and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber Business Awards.

The market stall will be housed on the second floor of the market, situated on stall 23 between J.R Leathergoods and HaiMilk Nail Club and joins over 100 others stalls trading in the historic market.

A central part of The Glass Works, Barnsley Market has been a cornerstone of the town centre since its origins in 1249.

Barnsley Indoor Market was named Best Large Indoor Market at the NABMA Great British Market Awards 2026, cementing its position as one of the leading market destinations in the UK.

“The new Reloved Boutique stall opening in Barnsley Market is a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain practical, hands-on and real world work experience for their future and allows a continued partnership between Barnsley Markets and Barnsley College.

“This new opening strengthens our commitment to giving young people the best possible opportunities to learn, grow and thrive and where better to do so than Barnsley Market, a historic place with over 775 years of trading.”

Jessica Oliver, Instructor in the Learning for Living and Work department at Barnsley College, said:

“We’re so excited to bring Reloved Boutique to Barnsley Market and give more people the chance to discover what our students are achieving.

“Being part of the market will give students new opportunities to meet people, develop their skills and see the difference their work makes. Every purchase helps give clothing another life while supporting local charities, and we’ve loved being able to support fellow market traders as we prepare the stall.”

The market stall will open from 9am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 2.30pm on Friday. The Old Mill Lane shop will continue operating, and customers can also shop through Reloved’s Vinted account and follow the boutique on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.
