Urban Burgers Now Open in The Glass Works Square
Urban Burgers has officially opened the doors to its new home in The Glass Works Square, bringing its popular burgers, fresh-cut fries and delicious shakes to a prime location in Barnsley town centre.
The popular South Yorkshire burger chain has built a loyal following since opening in The Glass Works in 2022. The move from Cheapside places Urban Burgers at the heart of The Glass Works, joining neighbouring venues including Nando's, The Salt House and Katie O'Brien's.
To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers through the doors were treated to a free burger, while visitors also had the chance to try their luck on a spin-to-win wheel and pick up exclusive goodie bags.
Mehmet Kent, Co-founder and Director of Urban Burgers, said:
"We're delighted to have officially opened our new restaurant in The Glass Works Square. Since first opening in Barnsley, we've received fantastic support from the local community and this new location gives us an exciting opportunity to continue growing the business.
We're looking forward to welcoming both returning customers and first-time visitors to enjoy the Urban Burgers experience in our new home."
Councillor Andy Cudworth, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Assets at Barnsley Council, said:
"It's fantastic to see Urban Burgers open in its new location at The Glass Works. Its continued investment demonstrates the confidence businesses have in Barnsley town centre, while further strengthening our food and drink offer for residents and visitors alike."
With millions of visitors welcomed each year, the town centre continues to go from strength to strength, supported by a vibrant programme of events and attractions.
