Safeguarding

In Barnsley, we take our safeguarding duties very seriously.

We work with lots of different groups to make sure children and young people, and adults with care and support needs, are protected from harm or neglect.

Our Safeguarding Children and Adults Boards are in charge of leading safeguarding arrangements in the borough. They oversee and coordinate the effectiveness of the work of their members and partner groups.

You'll find details on this site about the work the Boards do to protect children and adults. It shows the types of abuse they're working to prevent and how you can help keep people safe. Please report suspected abuse so that we can put a stop to it.
