Become a market trader

If you'd like to trade at Barnsley Market or one of our local markets, we recommend paying a visit to find out about the layout, type of spaces available and customers. You'll also be able to speak to the staff and our existing traders.

If you're just starting out, you might also find information from the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) useful. This trade association works with market and street traders, mobile caterers and events retailers in the UK. They can give you advice on starting out as a market trader and have a range of useful contacts.
