Keresforth Hill and Hall Road resurfacing works

Highways resurfacing works will be taking place on Keresforth Hill and Hall Road from Sunday 20 August 2023 for approximately four weeks.

Closures will be in place from 7pm to 5am, with signed diversions in place. Works are phased into sections. It will be starting with Keresforth Hall.

There will be very limited access to Bainton Drive, Raley Street and Keresforth Hill Road cul de sac, at times, whilst resurfacing work is taking place. These periods will be minimised as much as possible. Any access from these streets will be through liaison with the on-site traffic management operative.

Please note all dates may change subject to engineering difficulties and adverse weather conditions.

Phase 1: Sunday 20 to Thursday 24 August

  • Keresforth Hall Road closed between Park Road and Locke Park entrance.
  • Access to Bainton Drive and Keresforth Hill Road cul-de-sac available as normal.

Phase 2: Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 August

Work will be carried out on Sunday to Friday evenings:

  • Racecommon Road will be closed one way to southbound traffic, between Dyson Street and Park Road. There will be no exit onto A6133. There will be left turns only from A6133 Keresforth Hill Road onto Racecommon Road.
  • The A6133 Park Road fully closed between Church and Racecommon Road.
  • Westbound A6133 Park Road and Keresforth Hill Road will be closed between Racecommon Road and the Co-op.
  • Keresforth Hall Road will be closed between Park Road and Locke Street.
  • Access to Bainton Drive will be available as normal through eastbound A6133 Keresforth Hill Road. Access to Keresforth Hill Road cul-de-sac will be restricted. Access will be managed by traffic management operative on site.

Phase 3: Tuesday 29 August to Wednesday 6 September

Work will be carried out on Sunday to Thursday evenings:

  • Westbound A6133 Keresforth Hill Road closed between Keresforth Hall Road and Broadway and Keresforth Hill Road junction.
  • B6099 Keresforth Hill Road outside Greenacre School will be closed between Broadway and house number 122.
  • There will be limited access to Bainton Drive and Keresforth Hill Road cul-de-sac. This will be for periods up to four hours whilst Bainton Drive and Keresforth Hill Road cul-de-sac carriageway is being worked on. These periods will be minimised as much as possible. Access will be managed by traffic management operative on site.
  • Minimal impact on 6 September, where the lining will take place. Any closures will be for a short duration.

Phase 4: Wednesday 6 to Tuesday 12 September

Works will be carried out on Sunday to Thursday evenings:

  • Eastbound A6133 Broadway and Keresforth Hill Road will be closed between Broadway and Keresforth Hill Road junction and Racecommon Road.
  • There will be left turns only out of B6099 Keresforth Hill Road onto A6133 Broadway.
  • There will be very limited access to Raley Street. There will be periods up to four hours when access to Raley Street will not be allowed, due to the carriageway being worked on. These periods will be minimised as much as possible.

Phase 5: Wednesday 13 to Tuesday 19 September

Works will be carried out on Sunday to Thursday evenings:

  • Eastbound A6133 Broadway, Keresforth Hill Road and Park Road will be closed.
  • A6133 Park Road will be fully closed outside the church.
  • There will be left turns only out of Keresforth Hall Road onto A6133 Keresforth Hill Road.
  • Racecommon Road will be fully closed between Dyson Street and A6133 Keresforth Hall Road.

Lining and traffic signal loops

The above phasing information relates to carriageway resurfacing only. Lining operations and the installation of traffic signal loops will also be taking but should be minimally disruptive.

Why are we doing these works?

As part of our Highways Capital programme, we’ve invested £20 million to improve of our road infrastructure. We’ve sped up these works to make a large impact on our highway network before the next winter season.
