This qualification is designed for learners who are new to using ICT and who want to gain nationally recognised qualifications for their newly acquired skills.

There are two courses, each running for 18 weeks.

Length of course

2 hours a week for 18 weeks

Course content

Course A

To achieve the qualification, you'll need to complete tasks from a range of modules including:

  • file management (mandatory)
  • word processing software
  • using the internet
  • using email
  • presentation software
  • spreadsheet software
  • desktop publishing software
  • database software

Course B

To achieve the qualification, you'll need to complete 3 modules including:

  • word processing software - displaying information
  • searching for information
  • creating and using email
  • creating graphs using spreadsheet software

Entry requirements

These courses are designed to be accessible to learners who are entirely new to using ICT, so no prior experience or knowledge is required. Mouse and keyboard skills would be desirable.

Course fees

The cost of the courses are:

  • course A: £139.99
  • course B: £147.30

This includes tuition, materials, and registration fees with the awarding body.
