The government believes that all councils should publish the data that they hold so local people can contribute to the local decision making process and help shape public services.
Because of this, they've published the Local Government Transparency Code to make sure that local people can now see and access data about:
- how we spend our money
- how we use council assets
- how we make decisions
- issues important to local people
Below is what we provide under the Local Government Transparency Code 2015.
|Council land||Barnsley Council land and buildings|
|Expenditure||Expenditure exceeding £500|
|Fraud||Counter fraud information|
|Grants||Grants to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations|
|Pay||Pay policy statement|

|Salaries||Senior officer salaries|
|Social housing||Social housing asset value|
